6th Street

A professional couple in their mid-thirties loved their funky 1920s home in a desirable Golden, Colorado neighborhood. What they didn’t love was how dark it was, or the hodge-podge of additions that previous owners had undertaken over the years that didn’t quite go together.

They dreamed of a Scandinavian-inspired home, with an open floor plan, abundance of natural light, and high ceilings.

To make their renovation and addition high-performance, we created a super-insulated and airtight shell with triple-pane insulated windows. A heat recovery ventilation system now provides a continuous supply of fresh air.  And a high efficiency heat pump keeps the house comfortably warm in the winter and cool in the summer, at a fraction of the cost of traditional systems.
